Neat & Tangled Bible Journaling Card Series #1 with Tupelo Designs LLC

Welcome back!  Todays card is the first in a series of cards I've done using the Neat & Tangled Bible Journaling stamp set.  I had the ink blended background sitting on my desk from another project and having the layout of stamps in mind, I put the two together to create an inspiring and ethereal card.  I always have an eye out for stamp sets that allow me to share and express my faith, so this set was perfect for that.  While it's designed for use in a Bible, I wanted to share how to use it in cardmaking, since that is more in my wheelhouse.  Here is the link to the video on my YouTube channel if you want to see how I created this card and stay tuned as I have 3 additional cards coming up in the series with a fun surprise to wrap up!

Floral Shaker featuring Concord & 9th with Tupelo Designs LLC

Hello there!  Todays project is a Vellum Shaker using 2 stamp sets and a die set from Concord & 9th.  Wildflowers is one of my favorite sets from Concord & 9th, so having the images condensed into a collage image was right up my alley.  I also did some ink blending and finished it off with some die cut butterflies and sentiment.  The smile sentiment makes it suitable for a birthday, thinking of you, hello or even a sympathy card.  By changing the sentiment, it's suitable for a congratulations or recognition of achievement.  Here is the link to the video on my YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe, like, and let me know what you think or if you have any questions in the comment section below the video.  Below is my supply list.

Sapphire Smile with Tupelo Designs LLC

Hello and welcome!  Todays card features heat and dry embossing, vellum, and a simple die cut to create a simple, yet elegant design.  The background is what inspired me; the deep blue tones reminded me of a sapphire and I built the rest of the design around it.  Here is the link to the video on my YouTube channel if you want to see how I created this beauty.  My supply list is below.

Watercolor Peony Posey with Tupelo Designs LLC

Todays card was inspired by the colors of Grand Traverse Bay in the summer time; blues, teals and turquoise.  The stamp is Peony Posie by IndigoBlu and is a fairly elaborate image, so I wanted to keep the background simple and understated.  I used a simple wet on wet technique and just laid down stripes of color and after it was dried, I added a few sequins to finish it up.  Here is the link to the video on my YouTube channel and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out ;)

Thanks for stopping by and hanging out with me!  You can do this technique with any colors and any watercolors.  Gansai Tambi and Koi are two other palettes that I have that are great quality, affordable watercolors that are a little more crafter-friendly.  Daniel Smith are professional grade paints and as an artist, they are my favorite.  However, don't let not having a specific product stop you from creating with what you do have.  I promise you, improvising is something we designers do constantly!  So don't wait until you have this or that to be creative; you can do fantastic things with the supplies you have (even if it's just your kids crayola colored pencils!).  See you next time!

Masculine Watercolored Shaker with Tupelo Designs LLC

Hey guys!  Todays card was created around the Art Impressions Cottage stamp and die set.  It was originally designed with a home interior scene to go behind it, but I wanted to see what else I could do with it.  Using the trees from another Art Impressions builder set, I created this scene with a guy card in mind.  I kept the colors more muted so that the bright interior shaker element would stand out and seem homey and welcoming.  I kept the sentiment simple and it could be changed to birthday, welcome home, or more of a formal sympathy statement.  Here is the link to my video on my YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe so you don't miss any card-making goodness.

IndigoBlu Clematis Flourish 2 ways with Tupelo Designs LLC

Hey there!  I have had this stamp hanging out in my studio for awhile and I figured it was time to try it out.  I'll give you a bit of backstory on why I have two cards in this post instead of one.  My first try was the green one on the left;  I didn't like it.  I stamped, colored and inked it but almost trashed it.  I posted a picture of it to my favorite Facebook group, My Inky Oasis, and a bunch of the girls encouraged me to finish it as they loved it.  So I added some yellow green inks to it, added a sentiment, some sequins (because sequins make everything better!) and finished it off with Wink of Stella Clear.  At the point of trashing the first one, I stamped the second one and loved the softness of the gray ink, but my Copics had blurred the lines of the flowers, so I needed a way to add the detail back in.  I've watched several of Kelly Latevola's videos and she outlines all of her images after stamping and coloring.  So I tried the technique with the blooms and bird; loved it.  I added some shadows and it made the flowers just jump off the panel.  Finished it off with clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh and I had two finished cards. Beautiful Blossoms for Tupelo Designs LLC

 Hi there!  Todays card features a new release from Newtons Nook: Beautiful Blossoms.  I love the graphic design and bold lines of this set and paired it with a stencil and ink blending to add texture and, of course, color!  I don't think I can make a card without color ;)  Anyway... lets get started!

Start with a 4.25" by 5.5" panel of Neenah white cardstock and run it through the Big Shot with the largest of the Wonky Stitches frame dies.  Place stencil over the panel and tape down.  Using one of the brushes, blend Ocean Blue over the top right corner and down along the right side and the Lilac Whisper along the left edge.  Blend the two colors together over the top left and bottom right corners of the panel.  I used circular motions with my brush, holding it towards the end of the barrel; this will give you less control, but a lighter hand resulting in a smoother blend as it gets towards the middle and disappears.
The next step is the stamping.  Using my MISTI, I stamped the rounded petal flower on the bottom right corner first using black pigment ink, then covered in embossing powder and heat to melt.  When heat embossing, let your gun run for 45 to 60 seconds before applying to your paper; it's the best way to avoid warping.  Stamp the same flower on a post it note or masking paper and trim out.  Place mask over the first flower and stamp the pointed petal flower and repeat the same steps for the second and third flower.  With the masks in place, stamp and emboss the leaf images.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment using the same process with one exception.  I masked off the "you" in the sentiment so that I could use the die cut instead.  To make the die cut, I added Stick-It adhesive to both sides of a scrap of cardstock that was large enough to use the die cut with.  I ran it through my Big Shot and removed the release paper from the front.  I added the purple foil over the adhesive, rubbed over it with my finger, and peeled off the foil.  Add adhesive to the back of the panel and adhere to the card base.  To complete the card, I adhered the die cut with foam dots and the sequins with liquid glue.   Our card is complete!
